What it is

PhotoCraft is an open-source photo editor written from scratch in Rust. The README describes a native GPU compositor, layered editing, PSD support, a CLI/control channel, and a WebAssembly build.

Requirements

Use an official build for the target platform or follow the upstream Rust build documentation. The web build runs in a modern browser as a static site.

Limitations and review boundary

  • The author explicitly says it is not yet a Photoshop replacement for daily professional work.
  • The feature surface and platform support are still changing; release notes and upstream documentation are authoritative.
  • This catalog has not independently run PhotoCraft or evaluated professional workflows.
