What it is

PdfCraft is an open-source PDF reader and editor built from scratch in Rust. The author README covers reading, organizing, combining, splitting, commenting, forms, signatures, CLI/MCP control, and native plus web builds.

Requirements

Use an official release for the target platform or follow the upstream Rust build documentation. Source builds require Rust 1.95 or later; release builds include the documented OCR model inputs.

Limitations and review boundary

The author calls PdfCraft alpha; reliable existing-text editing, especially CJK and right-to-left, remains thin or missing.
Office import/export, advanced OCR, Preflight, PDF/X/UA, web printing, and some signature workflows are still incomplete.
The project reports ongoing fuzzing findings; this catalog has not independently opened or edited hostile PDFs.
